All of our men and women in uniform, whether they're serving in Afghanistan, Iraq or elsewhere, will spend this Independence Day weekend away from their loved ones to protect and defend our homeland.
Special Message: Independence Day
I want to take a moment to thank you for all your support and reflect on the importance of this day in our country's history.
On the day we remember every year that established freedom for our nation, many Americans will spend it with family and friends, perhaps at a barbecue or watching the evening sky light up with fireworks.
But there are many Americans who can not celebrate our freedom with us in the same way.
During this Independence Day weekend, I encourage you to take time to remember those Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice. All of our men and women in uniform, whether they're serving in Afghanistan, Iraq or elsewhere, will spend this Independence Day weekend away from their loved ones to protect and defend our homeland.
Our campaign continues to gain momentum and we will be victorious with your help. I wish you a safe and happy Independence Day weekend.
